Direct-to-film (DTF) prints are vibrant and durable when cared for properly. Follow these guidelines to get the most out of your print.

How long do DTF prints last?

With proper care, DTF prints can maintain their color and detail through many washes. Longevity depends on factors like garment fabric type, wash habits, and heat exposure. Results vary by garment and application process — no guaranteed wash count is implied or promised.

When do prints start to crack or peel?

Cracking or peeling is most often caused by high heat, harsh detergents, or abrasive washing. Following the care instructions below significantly reduces the risk of premature wear.

How long should I wait after receiving my item before washing?

Allow at least 24 hours after receiving your item before the first wash. This gives the adhesive and ink ample time to fully cure and bond to the fabric.

What wash temperature should I use?

Wash in cold water (30°C / 86°F or below). Hot water can weaken the print adhesive and cause premature fading or peeling.

Should I wash the item inside out?

Yes — always turn the garment inside out before washing. This protects the print from direct friction against other clothing and the drum of the washing machine.

Can I use a dryer?

Use a low-heat or tumble-dry-low setting if machine drying. High heat is the most common cause of print damage. Air drying flat is always the safest option.

Can I iron over the print?

Do not iron directly on the print. If ironing is needed, turn the garment inside out and use a low heat setting. You can also place a thin cloth between the iron and the garment for added protection.

Are there detergents I should avoid?

Avoid bleach, fabric softeners, and harsh chemical detergents. Use a gentle, color-safe detergent for best results.
